Position Summary
The Patient Account Representative is responsible for handling the majority of inbound calls from patients, obtaining and verifying patient information, and determining eligibility - all while delivering excellent customer service and adhering to HIPAA and company policies.
Key Responsibilities

Professionally represent clients as their billing office

Promptly answer incoming calls and minimize hold times

Obtain and verify patient information through phone interviews

Determine eligibility by comparing patient data against requirements

Clearly explain procedures, answer questions, and provide accurate information

Assist patients with general inquiries, requests, and concerns

Route calls to the correct department or individual as needed

Identify situations requiring escalation and involve appropriate parties

Take and deliver detailed, accurate messages promptly

Manage multiple calls and tasks simultaneously

Maintain a professional, empathetic, and calm demeanor with all callers

De-escalate calls from upset or irate patients to resolve issues

Work and resolve bad address and assigned reports

Assist with report responses in a professional manner

Complete assigned tasks competently and on time

Comply with all state/federal regulations, HIPAA, and PHI guidelines

Perform additional duties as assigned to support business needs
Required Skills & Qualifications

Bilingual (English/Spanish) - Required

2+ years of experience in a call center environment

High School Diploma or equivalent
-
Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities

Exceptional professionalism, communication, and customer service skills

Proficiency in phone communication, active listening, data entry, and customer focus

Basic computer skills (Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, Internet)

Comfortable learning new software and using online resources

Commitment to superior customer service and teamwork
